Hi, I’m Nicola.

I am a published author, journalist and researcher; an experienced speechwriter and public speaker; and a communications consultant and trainer working with international institutions including UN agencies and universities.

My roles are varied, but in the end it’s all about stories. I am fascinated by the stories we tell each other (and ourselves) about who we are, and where we are going. My mission is to platform the stories that matter: those that are not usually heard, and those that have the power to move us in more compassionate and sustainable directions. My passion is helping others to do the same.

My communication skills are grounded in my background as a linguist and an educator. I taught in universities in five countries, primarily as a language instructor, and headed two translation and copywriting bureaus. This experience not only provided a thorough and practical education in communication and training, it also taught me how to flourish in international work environments.

I completed my MA in Development Studies & Diplomacy at the UN-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica, having attained my undergraduate degree in Modern Languages & European studies from the University of Bath in the UK. I have further earned diplomas in Freelance & Feature Writing from the London School of Journalism and Ecolinguistics from the University of Gloucestershire. I speak English, Spanish, French and Russian.

I currently reside in Paris, France, but am available for international projects. The greatest delight of my work is travelling to meet new people and equipping them with the skills and the confidence to tell their own powerful stories, either through consulting and training, or through contributions to research or journalism projects. I specialise particularly in work regarding women, education, environment and peace.
